Client and Family Council
Working together to enhance the well-being and independence of our clients.
What is the purpose of this council?
- Provides a setting for caregivers and clients to give input into policy and program development
- Provides an opportunity for patients and families to review recommendations referred to the council by staff and administration
- Guides information, needs and concerns to staff and administration
- Provides opportunities for staff to listen to their clients and families
- Provides a safe place for patients and families to provide input
What are the benefits of a council?
- Promotes respectful, effective partnerships between clients, families and health professionals
- Leads to increased understanding and cooperation between clients, families and staff
- Provides an effective process for receiving and responding to client and family input
- Results in more efficient planning to ensure that services really meet consumer needs and concerns
